I smile because I have the key to success in my hand and you can too.
It’s been about 6 months since I left corporate America. My company was relocating and I wouldn’t be able to afford the move. My children were getting older and needed their mommy. I was tired of feeling overwork and under paid. I was feeling overused at work and tired and useless once home. Furthermore, I was tried of other people helping me do what I deemed my job - “raising my kids”. That was my job and I was on a quest to find a happy medium. I was looking for a job and or a company that would support and encourage me at work but at the same time truly understand that I am a mother first. I can remember telling my husband every Monday morning as I as getting ready for work that- the only reason I am going to work is because of my girls. I want to be able to provide for them - their needs and their wants, and so I continued on that corporate quest for the “perfect job”

But then one day something happen - I woke up and I was truly sick and tired of being sick and tired. I had started getting migraines at the blue, I was stressed, unhappy and still at a thankless job. I finalized realized that the only way that I was ever going to be happy with my career - was to create the career myself. I no longer had the desire to climb the corporate ladder- I wanted time and financial freedom and no one was giving it to me. I had to create the opportunity and that’s just what I did.
6 months later, there have been some really good days and there have been some really really bad days. But guess what? It’s my own company - I am doing what I love and more, connecting with people and changing lives. I get to drop off and pick up my oldest child - I am able to be with my youngest child throughout the day and really get a chance to see her grow and flourish. I have been blessed - I am blessed and will continued to be blessed. I am able to truly walk in my destiny, fulfill the purpose that God placed me on earth for - and that’s life altering. I smile - because I know through it all I am triumphant solider. I have victory over any obstacles - because like any glacier - it eventually melts away. The sun comes out and brightens up the day - I smile because I know there is so much more coming my way.
